On 8-9 February 2017, the Steering Committee of the Global Agricultural Research Forum (GFAR) met in FAO, Rome, Italy) with newly elected members for the next three years until the next Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GFAR) IV.

Two people were elected from our region: Dr Alisher Tashmatov, Executive Secretary of CACAARI, and Shaibek Karasartov, Director of the Training Center, Kyrgyzstan (NGO).

The members of the GFAR Steering Committee discussed and summarized the collective actions of the GFAR medium-term plan 2014-2017 and proposed recommendations for the development of the next GFAR medium-term plan 2018-2021.
