A Brief Report on Key Issues in Agricultural Research for Development in CAC Region now Posted

A Brief Report on “Key Issues in Agricultural Research for Development in CAC Region”, prepared by Dr. Surendra Beniwal, Consultant for CACAARI, is now posted under Activities Menu in Reports Sub-menu. The report highlights the development goals of the CAC region and then links them to the role that agriculture is playing, and could play more in future, in these development goals. Further, the report highlights the six challenges facing agriculture in the CAC region, and then, based on the information available in different reports from the region on research priorities, focuses on 18 key research issues that are important in the region to meet the challenges in agriculture development. A special section discusses five issues relating to changes that are required in restructuring the existing research system and institutions and their linkages, including the agricultural education system, and the extension system, and importance of creating linkages at the sub-regional, regional, inter-regional and at the global level.
This report will serve as a base document for the participants of the e-consultations.
